Dreams and NightmaresThe young girl sat beneath the empty bus stop
Lonely, silver rain pouring, dripping, a melody around her
She spoke of crimson ribbons of death and gore
Dark shadows of devil ghosts and midnight burn

Pale eyes, spooky misery, shattered nightmares
Filthy yellow talons, of claws, fetid stench, swallowing fear
Of haunted mist, lethal knives and bloodcurdling screams
Pleading creatures, night demons, graves near

She spoke of sadistic rips, excruciating tears
Of velvet lures, teeth and snares
Of wailing goblins and dolls of possessing lairs
Monster of the deep, wallowing, devouring cares

But in a flash she spoke of a single silhouette

Trust meThe boy took the girl's hand, sending shivers down her spine...
"Trust me," he whispered, affection in his eyes...
Her heart thud in broken rhythms
How much she wanted to reply
"I do, I do," If only she could cry
"I do, I do, I'll always trust you."

So frustrating that he just couldn't tell
Only he could dissolve her protective shell
"Trust me," he sighed over and over
"I promise, I promise," time couldn't move slower

Accepting her weak nod, the boy took her hand
One simple touch sent her to a fantasy land

Words, powerful words...

Black Minor ScalesBlack Minor Scales sat up from his bed and screamed a hoarse shout of pure fear. His bloodcurdling yelp shocked even himself and he felt like his blood was frozen. A thin sheen of sweat shone on his black skin. He flipped onto his scaly red stomach and groaned into the cushions. Golden paws flexed, extending crimson red claws, gripping at flimsy fabric, his heart and breath racing, pulsing, two times faster than usual. His blue smoky aura floated around him warily. Red eyes widened and finally focused as he eased out of his daze.

"Just a nightmare…" he panted, unsuccessfully trying to soothe his nerves. Finally he relaxed enough to glan

Chiyo and Jin"Farewell and I owe my gratitude to you, Uncle!" Jin yelled, waving back at his medical teacher, who also happened to be his uncle.

Chiyo was waiting impatiently for him under a big tree. Jin acknowledged her presence with a curt nod and tried to relax from his professional stance. He adjusted his side sling bag and straightened out his wrinkled white jacket.

"Hey kid!" he gestured at Chiyo. "How many times have I told you not to break rules?
Read that sign, it says "Don't step on the grass!"" Chiyo frowned, but stepped off the grass to shout back.

"Jin!" she snapped. "What do you mean "kid"? I'm not THAT much younger than you!"
